To conduct home inspections in the state of Kansas you must be registered by the state. Your state of residence has no baring on the registration requirement. Conducting inspections without being properly registered is a class A misdemeanor. Applicants must successfully complete an 80 hour preregistration training course at an approved course provider.
Applicants must successfully pass one of the approved national exams.
Maintain a general liability insurance policy of at least $100,000.
Maintain consumer protection coverage of at least $10,000 in one of the following ways;
Maintain a surety bond
Maintain an escrow account
Maintain a letter of credit from a Kansas bank
Maintain an Errors and Omissions policy
Must be at least 18 years old
Must be a High school graduate or its equivalent
Past criminal history may effect your ability to become registered.
